AS Monaco, Chelsea, RB Salzburg, and VfB Stuttgart are among several European clubs monitoring 17-year-old Malik Jakupovic of the Philadelphia Union. Borussia Dortmund appears to be a primary competitor and has actively tried to sign the striker for months. The German club had two formal bids, worth €2 million and €3 million, rejected by the Philadelphia Union during the summer. It is understood that the MLS side is seeking a fee exceeding €10 million for the player, who will likely only be able to move to Europe after he turns 18 next June.

Jakupovic, who holds both United States and Bosnia-Herzegovina nationality, joined the Union in April 2026 and is under contract until 2030. The forward has 12 goals in 9 appearances for the USA U17 team, has recorded one goal and one assist in eight MLS appearances this season, and has a current Transfermarkt valuation of €300k.
