Minnesota United has made several offers for NAC Breda's 20-year-old defender, Cherrion Valerius, and the clubs have now reached an agreement in principle. The American side reportedly wants to finalize the deal quickly, which could cause other interested parties, including a top Scottish club and a team from La Liga, to accelerate their plans after they had initially intended to wait until the summer.
Valerius is said to be ambitious and would prefer to finish the season in the Eredivisie, meaning a loan back to NAC Breda could be an option if a transfer is completed, especially as he is not particularly eager to move to the United States at a young age. The potential transfer fee remains unknown, but the defender, who is contracted until mid-2028, could become one of NAC's most expensive outgoing transfers. The Right-Back, who has both Curacao and Netherlands nationality, joined NAC Breda in July 2024 and has made 18 appearances in the Eredivisie this season. He is yet to be capped by Curaçao and has a current market value of €700k, according to Transfermarkt.
