Milan among Serie A clubs monitoring Lorenzo Pirola

The Italian defender is attracting interest from several clubs ahead of a potential transfer.

Several Serie A clubs, including Milan, are closely monitoring the progress of 23-year-old Italian Centre-Back Lorenzo Pirola. Juventus also has strong interest in the defender and may have an advantage in submitting a proposal. There have been reports linking Southampton from England to the player, but it is thought that Italian clubs would be unlikely to allow him to leave Serie A. Massimiliano Allegri reportedly views Pirola as a player with great potential for development. Interest in him is expected to intensify if he continues to perform convincingly in the Champions League.

His club, Olympiacos, anticipates that a call-up to the Italian national team could significantly raise his value, potentially making a €20 million fee seem low. A bid in the €20-25 million range is considered a viable starting point for negotiations. Pirola joined Olympiacos in July 2024 and has a contract until June 2028. In the current 25/26 season, he has made 12 appearances and provided 1 assist in the Super League 1. The defender has 26 caps for the Italy U21 team and a current Transfermarkt market value of €9.00m.
