Newly appointed Leicester City head coach Russell Martin may seek players from his former club Rangers to support a promotion effort from League One. Scottish centre-back John Souttar, 29, is regarded as a potential target, as he was a player Martin frequently started during his management tenure at Ibrox. However, any potential transfer could be difficult, as it is suggested that the Rangers hierarchy would probably be reluctant to enter into transfer discussions with Martin.

The defender, who has 24 caps for Scotland, made 23 appearances in the Scottish Premiership in the previous season and is under contract until May 2027. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €2.00m.
