Leicester City, a club in the English Championship, has an agreement in principle with Gais for the transfer of Ibrahim Diabaté, a 26-year-old from Cote d'Ivoire. The management of Leicester City wants to sign the forward in the January window and is prepared to meet the demands of Gais. The discussions have included both a loan with an option to purchase and a permanent sale. The final decision belongs to Leicester's coach, Marti Cifuentes, and he is expected to make a decision in the near future.
The club is also pursuing other targets. The English club Wrexham is also interested in signing the player. Ibrahim Diabaté joined GAIS in January 2025 and has a contract that is valid until the end of 2028. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at €1.50m.
