Leeds United plan to sign James Trafford from Manchester City

The Whites are reportedly planning a summer transfer for the 23-year-old English goalkeeper.

According to TeamTalk, Leeds United are planning to sign 23-year-old English goalkeeper James Trafford from Manchester City this summer, but face competition from Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur. The potential transfer comes as Leeds' current goalkeeper, Illan Meslier, could leave the club.

It is reportedly hoped by the Whites that negotiations for Trafford, who has lost his place at City, could be facilitated by the fact he is represented by the same agent as Wilfried Gnonto. Trafford, who joined City in July 2025, has made three appearances in the Premier League this season and is under contract until 2030. He has not yet been capped by England and has a current market value of €25.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
