Lech Poznań regrets that they did not manage to sign Slovenian striker Žan Vipotnik, who was one of several candidates the club considered for the position. The failure to secure the transfer was a topic of regret at a meeting between the club's board and its season ticket holders. At the time of Lech's interest, Vipotnik had completed a season with Swansea City in which he scored seven goals in 42 league appearances after joining the club in August 2024.
He scored 23 goals the following season, which caused his valuation on the Transfermarkt portal to rise to 22 million euros. In August, Sporting considered making an offer of a similar amount for the 24-year-old. A potential transfer is now considered to be unaffordable for Lech Poznań. Vipotnik is under contract until 2030, and several Premier League clubs, including Brighton, Burnley and West Ham United, have also been recently linked with him.
