Lazio are exploring replacements in case Matteo Cancellieri departs. Brentford is reportedly prepared to offer around €15 million for him. The leading candidate is VfL Wolfsburg's 24-year-old Austrian right winger, Patrick Wimmer. The player's agent, Josef Bachleitner, was in Munich on Sunday to discuss the Austrian's future with the German club, where his contract runs until June 2027.
Wolfsburg is seeking to renew his contract and is not open to a loan, setting an asking price of at least €15 million. Fiorentina has also shown appreciation for Wimmer. At Lazio, contacts are being managed by Franco Granello, the Italian representative for More than Sport. Wimmer has 28 caps and one goal for Austria. In the current Bundesliga season, he has registered three goals and three assists in 13 appearances, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €15 million.
