Allen Obando's lawyer, Christian Morales Arcos, has clarified that the player's transfer was directly from Barcelona SC to the MLS. This clarification was made after earlier reports from Ecuador had stated that he had moved to Atlético de Madrid. Although Barcelona SC had publicly announced the move to Inter Miami, it was initially understood that the player was owned by the Spanish club, an operation that Atlético de Madrid never made official. Morales Arcos confirmed that documents obtained directly from FIFA show the transfer was from Barcelona SC to the MLS. The MLS centralizes transfers for clubs like Inter Miami. The lawyer added that the collected documents do not list any other teams.
This clarification has been made as Obando has filed a lawsuit against Barcelona SC to claim 15% of his international transfer. This amount includes a 10% share granted in his contract and other outstanding debts from the club.
