Kyogo Furuhashi, a 31-year-old centre-forward, has moved from Birmingham City to LA Galaxy, signing a five-year contract with the MLS club. The Japan forward has 23 caps and 5 goals for his country and will take up an international roster slot. He has moved to the US after one season with the English team, during which he scored three goals in 31 appearances. This is his third transfer in a brief period, having left Celtic for Rennes in January 2025 for a confirmed €12.0M before joining Birmingham that summer for a fee reported to be between just over €9 million and £10 million. His current market value is listed as €2.00m by Transfermarkt.

LA Galaxy general manager Will Kuntz expressed excitement about the signing, noting Kyogo's extensive experience with the Japanese National Team, in the UEFA Champions League, and in top European leagues. Kuntz added that the club was pleased to acquire a player of his calibre and goal-scoring ability.
