Juventus directors Giovanni Carnevali, Ricky Massara, and Marco Ottolini specifically observed Mahamadou Nagida during a match against Rennes. The Cameroonian left-back, born in 2005, controlled the left flank, initiated the play that resulted in the 1-1 goal, and won a penalty. Technical director Massara already knew the player, as he had been monitoring his progress at the French club. Nagida is considered suitable for the wing-back role in Luciano Spalletti's potential 3-5-2 system, a position in which the squad currently has few options.

However, a potential transfer faces significant challenges. Rennes might want to keep the player until the summer and would only agree to a sale for a very high fee. Additionally, Juventus would have to use their final non-EU slot for the signing, and the club might prefer to use that slot for a different area of the team. Nagida has 13 caps for Cameroon, joined Rennes in July 2024, and has a contract that is valid until June 2029. Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €10.00m. It was also reported earlier in 2026 that Rennes had turned down a €5 million offer from Beşiktaş. Other clubs that have been linked with the player include Paris Saint Germain, Porto, and Inter, in addition to Juventus.
