An agreement has been reached between RC Lens and West Ham United for the loan of Jean-Clair Todibo, a 26-year-old French international centre-back. Lens reportedly surpassed OM to secure the deal; OM were held back by financial constraints. The defender has two caps for France and is currently in Lens undergoing his medical. The loan does not contain an option to buy, and the player made a significant financial effort to facilitate the move.
Todibo joined West Ham from OGC Nice in July 2025, and his contract runs until 2029. The fee for that transfer was reportedly €42 million. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €22.00m. Besides Marseille, other clubs that have been linked with the player include Aston Villa, Juventus, and Atalanta. West Ham's asking price for a permanent move in August 2026 was reportedly around €17-20 million.
