It is reported that MLS champions Inter Miami are interested in signing attacking midfielder Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis as a replacement for Tadeo Allende. The 29-year-old Argentine World Cup winner is under contract with Betis until June 2028. It is also reported that he would be open to moving to the United States for a good offer. A key motivation is said to be the opportunity to play in North America, where the next World Cup will be held and Argentina will be defending its title.
Real Betis had reacquired Lo Celso from Tottenham a year and a half ago for approximately €5 million, which was significantly less than the nearly €50 million fee Tottenham had paid to Betis for the player in 2020. The Argentine international has 65 caps and 4 goals for his country. In the current LaLiga season, he has made 14 appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €15.00m.
