After a year and a half with Saudi club Al Hilal, Portuguese international João Cancelo may return to European football. According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan, Juventus Turin, and his former employer FC Barcelona are all examining the situation.
Romano reports that Inter's pursuit is the most advanced, with the club already in talks with both Cancelo's management and Al Hilal. The deal being discussed is a loan with a subsequent option to buy for the 31-year-old defender, who is under contract until 2027 after moving from Manchester City in 2024 for €25 million. Cancelo, who has 64 caps and 12 goals for Portugal, has made 2 goalless appearances in the Saudi Pro League this season. His current Transfermarkt market value is €10.00m, and in June 2025, reports indicated that FC Barcelona was considering an offer of approximately €15 million for the player.
