A potential January loan move for 21-year-old Serbian midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic is being discussed in Milan. In the summer, Stankovic reportedly rejected loan interest from Torino and some Champions League clubs to stay at Inter, which he joined in June 2026 from Club Brugge for a €23 million buy-back fee, having been sold to them for €9.5 million in July 2025. During that period, Inter also turned down a bid from the Premier League. Corriere dello Sport reported this bid was for €40 million plus €5 million in bonuses, and Sky Sports and Football Italia identified Brentford as the interested party.
A loan is considered a possibility to allow the former Club Brugge player consistent game time for the remainder of the season. La Gazzetta dello Sport also considers a temporary departure possible if his playing time does not increase, although a decision will be made in January. A potential return to Bruges has financial obstacles, as Stankovic's earnings in Milan are higher than his previous salary. Het Nieuwsblad reported his previous salary was around €1.2 million gross per year. The midfielder has 8 caps for Serbia and a contract with Inter until 2031, and has also drawn interest from other Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €32 million.
