Inter is one of several clubs interested in Nicolò Tresoldi, a German-Italian striker from Club Brugge, whose valuation could increase to more than €50 million. AC Milan, who are Inter's city rivals, are also reportedly considering a winter bid and hope to use the player's personal preference for them to assist in negotiations. Nicolò Tresoldi's father has confirmed that his son is an AC Milan fan and has a dream of playing for the club. Last summer, AS Roma made an unsuccessful bid for the 22-year-old, and Club Brugge is also hopeful that he might consider a transfer to the Premier League.

Nicolò Tresoldi joined Club Brugge from Hannover 96 in July 2025 for a reported fee of €7 million and has a contract that is valid until 2029. The unsuccessful bid from AS Roma was reportedly for €35 million. By October 2026, Club Brugge's asking price was reported to be as much as €60 million. For Germany's U21 team, he has scored 16 goals in 27 appearances. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €35.00m.
