Newly promoted English club Hull City has inquired with SC Freiburg about Noah Atubolu and is considering a transfer for the 24-year-old German-Nigerian goalkeeper. This follows a desired transfer to Newcastle United that was previously unsuccessful.
Atubolu, who joined the club in July 2021 and has been the club's first-choice goalkeeper for three years, is in a difficult position as the club has already signed an expensive replacement in Mio Backhaus from Werder Bremen and is reportedly planning without him, despite his contract running until 2027. He made 34 appearances in the Bundesliga in the 2025/2026 season and has 22 caps for the Germany U21 national team. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €25.00m. In February 2026, SC Freiburg's asking price was reported to be €30 million, while other reports from the spring indicated potential fees in the range of €20-25 million.
