Panagiotis Retsos, a 28-year-old Greek centre-back, has a good reputation in Germany and active interest from the Bundesliga, despite a previous spell at Bayer Leverkusen that did not go as planned. It is circulating that Hoffenheim considers him a priority transfer target. However, Olympiacos reportedly has no desire to sell the player and is instead planning to offer him an early contract renewal with a significant salary increase, although his current deal expires in 2028.

If the German club makes a formal approach, it has the financial capacity to meet or exceed the 10 million euros that Olympiacos is said to be demanding as a starting point for negotiations. Retsos joined Olympiacos in July 2023. Earlier reports from March 2026, which mentioned interest from VfB Stuttgart, suggested Olympiacos's demands could be €15 million or more. His current market value is €7 million, according to Transfermarkt.
