Hibernian's £1m bid for Bailey Cadamarteri rejected

The Scottish side made a surprise transfer offer for the young Sheffield Wednesday striker.

Hibernian have made an unsuccessful offer of around £1m for Sheffield Wednesday's 20-year-old striker Bailey Cadamarteri. This follows previously failed attempts to sign him by clubs including Blackburn, Preston North End, Ipswich Town, and Sheffield United. The bid from the Scottish side was described as a surprise and was also lower than an offer made by Blackburn in the summer.

It is reported that Hibernian are hoping to benefit from Wednesday's administration status. While Cadamarteri could be viewed as a replacement for Kieron Bowie, it is claimed that a greater offer will be required, as Wednesday's administrators might be compelled to make a high-value sale later in the window. The Jamaican international's contract at Sheffield Wednesday is due to expire in June 2028. In the 2025/2026 Championship season, he has scored 2 goals in 25 appearances, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €800k.
