Amadou Ba-Sy, a French and Senegalese forward, is in advanced talks with Hearts over a six-figure transfer. The club had previously targeted the 24-year-old striker from French third-tier side Rouen in January, but an agreement was not reached as Hearts could not meet the asking price.
Negotiations for a summer transfer have now resumed, as Rouen are open to letting Ba-Sy leave following their elimination from the Ligue 2 promotion playoffs. Hearts' interest in the player, who was rated highly by Jamestown Analytics, predates Lawrence Shankland's departure to Rangers and he is not considered a direct replacement. It is understood that Derek McInnes wants an imposing forward for the team's Champions League qualifiers. Ba-Sy has one year remaining on his contract, and talks are believed to be at an advanced stage, with a move to Edinburgh considered likely. Ba-Sy joined Rouen in July 2025 and has a market value of €500k, according to Transfermarkt.
