Harrison Ashby, a 24-year-old Scottish and English right-back, has joined Luton Town on a season-long loan from Newcastle United and is the club's third signing of the summer. Luton manager Jack Wilshere, who played alongside Ashby when the defender made his debut at West Ham United, told the club's website that Ashby has the quality, character, and experience to make an immediate impact. Wilshere added that although Ashby's time at Newcastle may not have gone as planned, he developed as a player and a person under Eddie Howe.

Ashby has previous experience from loan spells in the Championship with Swansea City and QPR, and he also helped Bradford City reach the League One play-offs during the second half of last season. The defender has been capped four times for Scotland U21, scoring once, and has a contract with Newcastle until June 2027. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €1.20m.
