An agreement had been reached between AS Roma and Atlético de Madrid for Italian forward Giacomo Raspadori, 25, based on a €2 million loan with a €19 million non-obligatory purchase option, but the deal is not yet complete. Although Atlético de Madrid has approved the deal, the final decision rests with the player, who is reportedly seeking more playing time to be in form for the World Cup playoffs. Raspadori has scored 2 goals in LaLiga this season for the club he joined in August 2025.
The situation is further complicated because both Lazio and Napoli are taking actions to interfere with the initial agreement between Roma and Atlético. The Italian international has 45 caps and 11 goals and is under contract until 2030. In December 2025, Atlético Madrid reportedly rejected initial offers because they sought to recoup the €22 million fee they paid to Napoli.
