Genoa is considering other options for the goalkeeper position after negotiations for Bento were halted, with Manchester City's Stefan Ortega, 33, being one of the names under consideration. The club is looking at other options because Al-Nassr has, for now, refused to sell the Brazilian goalkeeper for technical reasons. Ortega, a German goalkeeper of Spanish origin who joined Manchester City in July 2022, is an option that Genoa finds appealing, but the interest is not yet concrete. He is currently one of several names the club is considering, and at this stage remains only an idea while Genoa waits to determine if the decision on Bento is final.
The goalkeeper, who has not been capped by Germany at senior level, has a contract that runs until June 2026 and has not made any appearances in the Premier League this season. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €5.00m. Other clubs, including Celtic and West Ham United, have also been linked with the goalkeeper. A reported offer from Fenerbahce in July 2025 was said to be between €3 and €4 million.
