The transfer of Nigerian winger Funsho Bamgboye to CFR Cluj is nearing finalization, and his official presentation is expected in the near future if no last-minute complications arise. Bamgboye, who is 27 and previously played for Rapid, is currently with Hatayspor in Turkey's second division but has not played since October after being excluded from the team's plans.
The move is preceded by a statement from Pancu on Digi Sport, in which he said the club was looking to sign a winger who had previously been in the Romanian league and that he thought a deal would be completed within one or two days. Bamgboye's contract with Hatayspor expires on 30/06/2026. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €400k. Before he was excluded from the team's plans, Bamgboye made 10 appearances in the 1.Lig this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists. He also has 6 caps and 2 goals for the Nigeria U17 national team.
