Talks are taking place between Fiorentina and Galatasaray for the potential return of 30-year-old Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira. The player reportedly wants to leave his Turkish club and has a fondness for Florence, where he previously played in the 2021/22 season on loan from Arsenal before a permanent move was not completed.
The new transfer could be structured as a loan with an option to buy, a similar arrangement to his first period with the Italian club. Torreira, who has 40 caps for Uruguay, joined Galatasaray in August 2022 and his contract is valid until June 2028. His current market value is €10.00m, according to Transfermarkt, and Boca Juniors has also been associated with him. Galatasaray signed him from Arsenal for a €6.0 million fee; more recent reports have mentioned various figures, including a reported asking price of approximately €15 million in March 2025 and a formal proposal of €4.5 million from Atlético-MG in January 2026.
