Fenerbahçe's transfer activity is intensifying, with the latest reports linking the club to Turkish international Can Uzun. The storyline surrounding Rafael Leão remains the hottest topic, however. Our analysis of the past seven days shows the club has been tied to 20 possible arrivals and 12 potential exits, and the items below represent the latest news on the most important of those transfer rumours.
Rafael Leão
On Wednesday, a report from Fabrizio Romano stated that Fenerbahce will meet with AC Milan and Rafael Leão's representatives to present an official offer for a permanent transfer. The report indicated that Milan's management is only considering a permanent sale, while Fenerbahce aims to complete the transfer for 40 million euros or less. Earlier on Wednesday, Fanatik reported that the club had already submitted an official offer after executive Cihan Kamer met with Milan officials. According to that report, the proposal consists of a €5 million loan fee, a €35 million mandatory purchase option, and up to €2 million in bonuses. Fanatik added that Milan prefers a direct sale but is open to negotiations, and that Fenerbahce has offered Leão an annual salary of €8 million, potentially rising to €10 million with bonuses.
Can Uzun
Fenerbahçe's management is expected to begin official moves for Can Uzun after the transfer process for Rafael Leao is concluded, according to reports on Wednesday. The 20-year-old Turkish international attacking midfielder has a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until 2029. Recent reports state that Eintracht Frankfurt is demanding between €45 million and €60 million for Uzun, while Galatasaray has reportedly made offers ranging from €30 million to €40 million.
Ismaïla Sarr
According to a Tuesday report from Nabil Djellit, Fenerbahçe is monitoring Ismaïla Sarr, and the club's management highly appreciates his profile. The same source states that Fenerbahçe could make Sarr a priority target if negotiations for Rafael Leão do not succeed. Earlier reports on Tuesday identified the Crystal Palace winger as an alternative to Leao, noting that Fenerbahçe would initiate talks for the Senegalese international if the Leao deal is unsuccessful. Sarr is reportedly considered more open to a move to Turkey than Marcus Rashford, who is also on the club's list.
Gonzalo García
A Tuesday report from the Spanish newspaper MARCA stated that Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has decided he wants Gonzalo García to remain at the club. The report indicated that Mourinho believes there is no other striker in the squad with the player's profile and considers him indispensable. This followed reports from Monday that Fenerbahce had made initial contact with a Spanish club to learn about the conditions for the 22-year-old forward and submitted a verbal offer for a loan.
Cody Gakpo
On Monday, Fanatik reporter Samet Çayır stated that Fenerbahçe inquired about the situation of Dutch footballer Cody Gakpo, who is expected to leave Liverpool. According to the report, Gakpo stated in a first meeting that he wants to continue his career in one of Europe's top 5 leagues if he leaves Liverpool. Despite this, Fenerbahçe will reportedly continue to monitor the player's situation.
Hakan Çalhanoğlu
According to a report from Fanatik on Tuesday, it was claimed that while in Milan for talks regarding Rafael Leao, Fenerbahçe would also hold discussions with Inter for Hakan Çalhanoğlu. The report added that the club is reportedly considering him as a replacement for Fred.
Amar Dedić
On Monday, O JOGO reported that Fenerbahce has taken action to add Benfica player Amar Dedić to its squad. The same report states that the Portuguese club will not approve the player's departure unless an absurd offer is made. A day earlier, the online newspaper SportSport linked Dedić with Fenerbahçe, reporting that the right-back is the club's preferred option to strengthen the position if Nélson Semedo leaves this summer.
