FC Copenhagen reportedly targeting Newcastle United right-back

Danish club FC Copenhagen are reportedly targeting Newcastle United's 31-year-old right-back, Emil Krafth, for the January transfer window.

According to Bold via Campo, Danish club FC Copenhagen are reportedly targeting Newcastle United's 31-year-old right-back, Emil Krafth, for the January transfer window. The club is searching for a new full-back because their first-choice option, Rodrigo Huescas, has a serious knee injury that will keep him out for the season.

Copenhagen are preparing a formal approach for Krafth, who could be open to a move for regular playing time, having made just one appearance this season amid competition from Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento. The Swedish international's limited playing time has also resulted in his omission from his national team's most recent squad. The report states that the Danish club is ready to proceed and hopes to use Krafth's contract, which is in its final year, to negotiate a modest transfer fee. Krafth, who has 51 caps for his country, joined Newcastle in August 2019. His current market value is €2.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
