Eintracht Frankfurt is interested in Ajax right-back Anton Gaaei and has reportedly made contact for the player. The German club is looking for a new right-back following Rasmus Kristensen's departure to FC Midtjylland, and Gaaei is considered a candidate for the position. An earlier report from Het Parool had mentioned interest from the Bundesliga without naming any clubs. Ajax is understood to be open to a transfer for the 23-year-old Danish player.
Ajax signed him from Viborg in the summer of 2023 for 4.5 million euros. One reason Ajax is open to a transfer is that the club aims to generate funds to strengthen its squad. Gaaei was absent from a friendly match against Panathinaikos, and the club stated the reason was minor physical complaints. The Danish international has one cap for his country. He is under contract with Ajax until June 2028, and his market value on Transfermarkt is €5.00m. In the 2025/2026 Eredivisie season, he made 76 appearances, scored 5 goals, and provided 10 assists. Sassuolo has also been linked with the player. A Dutch newspaper in May 2026 suggested a potential sale price between €5 million and €20 million. Reports from late 2025 that linked Lazio with an interest in the player estimated his value at €10 million.
