Chemsdine Talbi, a 21-year-old Moroccan international and former Club Brugge winger, could leave Sunderland for Al Ittihad after one season, as he is a target for the Saudi Arabian club. A transfer is still possible because the transfer window in Saudi Arabia remains open, while it has closed in England. The two clubs are currently in talks regarding a potential transfer.

Before pursuing Talbi, Al Ittihad had made a bid for Anis Hadj Moussa of Feyenoord. Sunderland has provisionally excluded the winger from its European squad due to the uncertainty about his future. Talbi joined Sunderland from Club Brugge a year ago for a fee of twenty million euros. The winger has 10 caps for his country. His contract runs until 2030, and his current market value is listed by Transfermarkt as €25.00m. Other clubs, such as Galatasaray and RB Leipzig, have also been associated with him.
