Chelsea set price for David Datro Fofana amid Strasbourg interest

The Ivorian international could be set for a permanent transfer after being recalled from his loan.

It has been suggested that 23-year-old Ivorian international David Datro Fofana could move to Strasbourg, who are described as essentially Chelsea's feeder club, after being recalled from his loan at Fatih Karahumruk. Chelsea intend to sell the striker permanently for a profit and have reportedly placed a £10 million price tag on him, which led Championship side Leicester City to end their interest. The player has received interest from across the UK and Europe, including from Celtic.

According to Rudy Galetti, Qatari side Al-Sadd had a loan bid rejected and then submitted a permanent offer that did not meet Chelsea's valuation. Fofana, who has 3 caps for his country, scored 6 goals in 13 Süper Lig appearances this season. He joined Chelsea in January 2023 from Molde for a reported €12 million, and his current contract with the London club runs until June 2029, with a Transfermarkt market value of €5.00m.
