Gabriel Gudmundsson, a 27-year-old Swedish left-back, is one of the candidates to replace Marc Cucurella at Chelsea after the latter's transfer to Real Madrid was agreed this summer. The Premier League club is seeking a stand-in for Jorrel Hato, and Gudmundsson is considered an important candidate after a strong season with Leeds United. If a transfer is completed, Gudmundsson would compete with Hato. Leeds United is willing to cooperate on a deal for an offer that is considered suitable, and Chelsea's interest is currently described as not being a priority.
The Swedish international has 26 caps for his country. Gudmundsson joined Leeds in July 2025 and made 32 appearances in the Premier League during the 2025/2026 season. His contract with the club runs until 2029, and Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €20.00m.
