Celta de Vigo are close to completing a deal for Altay Bayındır, a 28-year-old Turkish international goalkeeper from Manchester United who was specifically requested by coach Claudio Giráldez. The manager has approved the operation and spoken with Bayindir, as he aims to increase competition for the goalkeeping position alongside Radu.
Since moving from Fenerbahce three years ago, Bayindir has had limited opportunities, participating in 17 official games for Manchester United, ten of which were in the Premier League. Celta is hopeful that the player will be able to join the team in Italy next week. His contract with Manchester United expires in June 2027, and he has been capped 12 times for Türkiye. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €5.00m. Beşiktaş has also been recently linked with the player.
