QPR and Cardiff City have identified Sheffield Wednesday's 20-year-old Northern Irish goalkeeper Pierce Charles as a transfer target as both clubs seek to strengthen their goalkeeping options. The two Championship clubs are competing for the player, who may be set to depart Hillsborough this summer following the Owls' relegation to League One. The interest from QPR and Cardiff comes amid significant competition from other clubs.

A report from talkSPORT indicated that Celtic and Rangers are also monitoring Charles, while a previous TEAMtalk report had linked Coventry City, Leeds United, Newcastle, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester City with the goalkeeper. While Charles might find more regular playing time with a Championship side like QPR or Cardiff, both clubs face a challenge to sign him. Charles, who has been capped 10 times for Northern Ireland, joined Sheffield Wednesday in July 2024 and is under contract until June 2027. His current Transfermarkt market value is €500k.
