Brentford have reportedly submitted an offer for Genk's 24-year-old Moroccan international full-back Zakaria El Ouahdi. The bid consists of a €15 million fee and a potential €6 million in bonuses. The Premier League club is also said to have held discussions with the player's entourage, and a weekly wage of approximately €50,000 is prepared for him. Genk considers the offer insufficient, as the Belgian club seeks a guaranteed sum of at least €25 million, which could increase to €30 million with add-ons.
Other clubs are also reportedly monitoring the player, including Crystal Palace and Everton in England, as well as PSV, Benfica, and Marseille. El Ouahdi joined Genk in September 2023 for a reported €2.5 million and is under contract until June 2028.
