Brentford have an interest in 23-year-old Italian winger Matteo Cancellieri and would like to bring him to England in January. Lazio believes in the player's potential but is open to selling him if a significant economic offer is made. Club figures Fabiani and Lotito could approve a sale for an amount between €20 and €25 million. In recent months, Lazio had started discussions for a possible contract renewal with Cancellieri, whose contract expires on June 30, 2027, but these talks were postponed due to other priorities, such as the situations involving Basic and Marusic.
As a result, the club would not strongly oppose his departure if an economically suitable offer arrives, making a future in the Premier League a possibility. Cancellieri has one cap for Italy and has scored three goals in 12 Serie A appearances this season. His current Transfermarkt market value is €5.50m. Lazio's asking price was reportedly between €10M and €15M in the summer of 2025, and a bid from Olympiacos for a reported €4.7M was rejected in July 2025.
