Borussia Mönchengladbach consider Rico Henry

The Brentford defender is being considered for a potential transfer as a replacement for Luca Netz.

Rico Henry is being considered by Borussia Mönchengladbach's shadow squad as a potential replacement for Luca Netz, whose own contract expires in the summer. Netz could potentially be sold before the end of January if a suitable offer arrives. Henry, who is currently with FC Brentford, could be available on a free transfer in the summer when his contract ends, though a winter transfer is also a possibility.

The 28-year-old Jamaican international was also offered to Bayer Leverkusen, but a move is considered unlikely as he does not fit the club's preferred profile. Other clubs are also reportedly interested in the defender, whose current salary is said to be €2.6 million gross annually plus bonuses, which would place him in the upper-middle tier of Gladbach's wage structure. Henry, who also holds English nationality, joined Brentford in August 2016 and has made 18 appearances in the Premier League this season. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €15.00m.
