Borussia Dortmund are among several European clubs monitoring Benfica's 18-year-old Portuguese right-back, Daniel Banjaqui, who also holds Guinea-Bissau nationality. Fellow German club RB Leipzig, Premier League sides Tottenham and Brighton, Italian teams Juventus and Roma, and Spanish clubs Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad are also monitoring him.

While no formal negotiations have taken place between Benfica and the interested clubs, it is reported that intermediaries have established initial contact and gathered information. Banjaqui is under contract with the Portuguese club until 2031, and his agreement is said to include a €45 million release clause. It is also reported that Benfica is only willing to consider a sale for offers starting at €35 million. The defender has 5 caps and 2 goals for Portugal's U21 team and a current Transfermarkt market value of €10.00m.
