Beşiktaş management is planning for the summer and intends to sign Fred from Fenerbahçe at the end of the season to form a squad for the next campaign. It is considered highly likely that the Brazilian midfielder will leave his club after no longer being favored following Fenerbahçe's winter signings of Matteo Guendouzi and N'Golo Kante. Beşiktaş previously attempted to sign the player last year, when President Serdal Adalı contacted then-Fenerbahçe president Ali Koç. The transfer did not happen because Koç was in an election process and Jose Mourinho did not approve the move.
The club is now aiming to complete the deal, and the possibility of the 32-year-old midfielder joining in the summer is considered very high. It is also reported that he will be Adalı's first transfer. Fred, who has 32 caps for Brazil, joined Fenerbahçe in August 2023 for a fee reported to be €9.7 million and has a contract until June 2027. In the current Süper Lig season, he has provided two assists in 19 appearances, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €7.00m. Other clubs, including Palmeiras and Ajax, have also been mentioned in connection with the player. In February 2026, Fenerbahçe reportedly demanded a €3.5 million loan fee from Ajax, while in July 2025, a reported €9 million bid from Palmeiras was rejected.
