Beşiktaş are monitoring 29-year-old Kelechi Iheanacho, who became a free agent at the end of June after Celtic allowed the one-year extension option in his contract to expire. The Nigerian forward's preference is to remain in European football, and he reportedly hopes to agree a new deal with Celtic, though the club is said to be hesitant because of fitness concerns.

Other Süper Lig clubs are also interested. Samsunspor is monitoring the situation, and Bursaspor has reportedly held several meetings with his representatives and submitted a contract offer. Additionally, the Brazilian club Vasco da Gama has made an offer, which reports suggest Iheanacho has delayed responding to. Meanwhile, former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie stated that he heard a rumour in Ireland that Iheanacho has already signed a new contract with the Scottish club. The forward has 58 caps and 15 goals for Nigeria, and his current market value on Transfermarkt is €3.00m.
