Beşiktaş in talks to sign Weston McKennie from Juventus

The Turkish club has made initial contact to learn the transfer terms for the American central midfielder.

Following a report from manager Sergen Yalçın who requested a defensive-minded midfielder, Beşiktaş is acting to loan Weston McKennie from Juventus. The management has made initial contact with the Italian club to learn the transfer terms for the 27-year-old American central midfielder. McKennie is known for his physical strength, tempo, and two-way play, and the technical staff believes his pressing and runs into the box would suit the Süper Lig. A loan is the most prominent transfer arrangement because McKennie does not have a clear role in Juventus's squad planning, and a purchase option may also be included.

The Beşiktaş management aims to complete the transfer without creating financial difficulty, and it is expected that further actions will be taken in the coming days. Salih Özcan of Borussia Dortmund has been added to the club's list as an alternative. McKennie has 62 caps and 11 goals for the USA. He joined Juventus in July 2021, and his contract is set to expire in June 2026. In Serie A this season, he has made 19 appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists. His current market value on Transfermarkt is €22.00m, and Juventus's asking price was reportedly in the €15-25 million range during the summer of 2025. He has also been linked with Fiorentina.
