Arsenal interested in Blackburn Rovers forward Igor Tyjon

The 17-year-old has reportedly rejected a professional contract with his current club, opening the door for a potential transfer.

Igor Tyjon, a 17-year-old English-Polish forward, has attracted interest from major clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United for a considerable time. According to Elliott Jackson of the 'Lancashire Telegraph', Tyjon has rejected an offer to sign a professional contract with Blackburn Rovers. This decision came despite being included in first-team training and being offered attractive terms on a new deal. Manager Valérien Ismaël confirmed that discussions about an extension were held and that the player decided not to renew his contract, which expires in June.

The manager, as cited by the 'Lancashire Telegraph', clarified that Tyjon could leave from January 1 and that the club is now focusing on players who are committed to its future. An official offer from the Premier League is expected in the coming weeks, as Blackburn must sell the player in January to receive a transfer fee, otherwise they will only get a small training compensation in the summer. For England U18, he has scored three goals in five caps, and for the 2025/2026 season in the Premier League 2, he has recorded three goals and one assist in three appearances.
