Arsenal's sporting director, Andrea Berta, is considering Galatasaray's 30-year-old goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır after personally scouting him during the derby against Fenerbahçe in Istanbul. Çakır was one of three players Berta was observing for the Premier League club. The Turkish international has 38 caps for his country and is also of interest to other top European sides.
Bayern Munich is reportedly planning to submit a significant offer to Galatasaray. According to information from the player's entourage, both Juventus and Inter Milan are also interested in him. Çakır joined Galatasaray in September 2025 from Trabzonspor for a reported €27.5 million and is under contract until 2030. Recent reports from April 2026 state Galatasaray's asking price for the player is between €40 million and €50 million, while his current Transfermarkt market value is €15.00m.
