Arsenal are considering Stefan Ortega, a 33-year-old German goalkeeper, as an option in their search for a new reserve goalkeeper, as their current backup, Kepa, reportedly wants to leave for a starting role and is attracting interest from Italy. The club is looking for an experienced and inexpensive backup for first-choice keeper David Raya.

Ortega is on a shortlist for the position, which also includes Ilan Meslier, Yann Sommer, and Mathew Ryan. Ortega is a free agent after his contract with Nottingham Forest was not extended. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €4.00m. He has also been linked with SV Werder Bremen, VfL Wolfsburg, and Wrexham.
