Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Antwerp is one of the clubs pursuing 23-year-old David Datro Fofana. Chelsea is looking to sell Fofana permanently this winter. The Ivorian striker was bought by the London club from Molde in early 2023 for 12 million euros but only played four first-team matches and has since been on several loans, most recently at Fatih Karagümrük where he has scored seven goals in fourteen games.
According to Romano, Celtic and Derby County have also shown interest in a potential deal. A move to Antwerp would mean Fofana arrives in Belgium years after a proposed transfer to Beveren in 2021 was not completed. Fofana, who has been capped three times for the Ivory Coast, has a contract with Chelsea until June 30, 2029. His current market value is €5.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
