Union SG was seeking a transfer for 24-year-old Belgian-Moroccan winger Anouar Aït El Hadj, who was not a guaranteed starter at the club. An agreement had been reached with Houston Dynamo for the winger's transfer. El Hadj had passed his medical examination, but the deal was not completed. The transfer was not finalized because of a financial disagreement between the player and Houston over the proposed personal terms, meaning El Hadj will now remain at Union SG.

The attacking midfielder, who joined the club in July 2024, has a contract that runs until 2028. His current market value is €5.00m, according to Transfermarkt. He has been capped four times for the Belgium U21 national team. Turkish club Amed SK has also been linked with a move for the player.
