Anderlecht is looking for a new striker and sporting director Olivier Renard is interested in Robert Glatzel from Hamburger SV. The 32-year-old German target striker was a prolific scorer for HSV in the 2. Bundesliga, which included a 22-goal season in 2023/24. He has been in a substitute role since the club's promotion to the Bundesliga, having started only one league match and scored once. Consequently, a winter departure is considered possible.
Anderlecht's interest in Glatzel comes while the club is also linked with Danylo Sikan, making it unclear if Glatzel is an alternative or if the club might sign two forwards. Glatzel joined Hamburg in July 2021 and has a contract until June 2027. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €1.50m. FC Union Berlin has also been linked with the forward.
