Internal sources at the Public Investment Fund (PIF) have confirmed to AFP that there is Saudi Arabian interest in Mohamed Salah, with an intention to attempt to sign the Liverpool winger for the Saudi Pro League during the winter transfer window. The PIF sources explained that a transfer could be either a loan or a permanent purchase and clarified that direct negotiations with Liverpool have not yet commenced.
The interest in the 33-year-old Egyptian international extends beyond the clubs controlled by the PIF, as Al-Qadisiyah is also prepared to try to sign the player. A PIF source described Salah as a global star who would bring enormous value to the league. Salah joined Liverpool in July 2017 and has a contract with the club until June 2027. His current market value is €30.00m, according to Transfermarkt. He has scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists in 13 Premier League appearances this season.
