Gabriel Barbosa

In September 2026, reports mention a €17 million release clause in Gabriel Barbosa's contract with Cruzeiro, while his market value was estimated at €3 million by Transfermarkt. This was a decrease from a €4 million Transfermarkt valuation in January 2026. For historical context, it was noted that Flamengo reportedly paid almost €20 million for him in a past transfer. He joined his parent club, Cruzeiro, on a free transfer from Flamengo in January 2025.

Our valuation for Gabriel Barbosa is shaped by the conflict between his reported €17 million release clause and his more modest Transfermarkt value of €3 million. While his strong goal-scoring form on loan at Santos suggests a value above the Transfermarkt estimate, his age (30), high salary, and stated desire to leave Cruzeiro make it highly probable that a transfer would be negotiated for a fee significantly below the release clause.
